New TERRALIFT handles terrain others cannot
The new generation All Terrain Terralift, which can power through soil aeration
problems on a wider range of terrains, was unveiled at Saltex by C & P
Soilcare.
Developed in association with specialist machinery manufacturer Avant, this
state-of-the-art Terralift incorporates several unique features for improved
overall manoeuvrability and versatility.
"This is our first four-wheel drive model which has been specifically
developed to handle the terrains and inclines that existing models cannot,"
says John Warren, general manager of C & P Soilcare. "It causes minimal
damage even to fine turf, so we can alleviate soil compaction problems on all
terrains from golf courses to rough parkland. With this machine surface water in
heavily waterlogged areas will not be a problem." With an articulated
chassis, the All Terrain Terralift can be operated neatly around individual
trees and other small static objects, such as statues and planters.
Featuring an in-built telescopic boom, it also has greatly improved reaching
capabilities. Previously inaccessible areas, such as waterlogged patches within
borders of established shrubs, can be easily and effectively treated.
A cost-effective and proven solution, Terralift involves injecting compressed
air and nutrients into the soil at depth. This creates a network of fissures
promoting better drainage, aeration and water storage. Flakes of dried milled
seaweed are blasted into the fissures, which expand eightfold when moist,
increasing the water storage capacity of the root zone. While helping prevent
water logging, this promotes healthy root growth.
